18mo (135 × 78 mm), pp. , 143,  complete with half-title, six photographs (from portraits) bound in, al interleaved with fine pink paper leaves, some with manuscript additions in French. Late nineteenth-century red morocco, gilt, by Thierry (successor to De Petit and Simier), gilt edges. A handsome copy.
Sole edition, a very rare historical biography of Anne Boleyn, this copy extra-illustrated with photographs from portraits of Henry VIII’s wives and with 21 pages of nineteenth-century historical notes on Henry and his wives in an elegant (but unidentified) hand on pink paper. Crapelet, who identifies himself on the title as author of Souvenirs de Londres, was from printing family (son of Charles, 1762-1809 and father of another Charles who continued the business). He was active as printer, bookseller, bibliographer and bibliophile between 1809 and 1842 and introduced the writings of Dibdin to French bibliophiles. No copies located in libraries outside France (where we can find the Bibliothèque nationale copy only).
