First edition, with author’s inscription to Eugène Fasquelle, the publisher. A novel with illustrations by Antoine Minartz, a self-taught painter and draftsman who made himself known in 1896, exhibiting canvases at La Société nationale des beaux art. He also decorated le théâtre Pompadour with painted panels for shows and from 1900 to 1910 he created elegant drawings and water-colours for Jacques Doucet’s fashion shows.
