A fiftieth anniversary edition, large paper copy (first published 1880). This copy printed on Alfa Vergé Chesterfield for the French novelist Lucien Descaves. A collection of six short stories, each concerning the Franco-Prussian war, by six different writers associated with Naturalism. The most prominent story within the book being Boule de Suif, which immediately launched the career of Maupassant.
