First appearance of this digested, single volume octavo edition of Knight’s Cyclopaedia, a large six volume work first published in 1844 on places and sights in London. Issued to coincide with the Great Exhibition, the book is complete with numerous wood engravings illustrating various famous places in London, (incuding Kew Gardens, Greenwich and Chelsea Hospital and Westminster Abbey).
