Third edition, ‘with alterations and additions’, originally published in 1770. The work is attributed in the BL catalogue to James Robertson, comedian, of York, an attribution supported here by the poems ‘On Modern Comedies’ and ‘On Mrs. Powell’s appearing in Rosalind, at York.’ Other poems include ‘A new Hymn in imitation of Wesley’s inimitable Hymns,’ ‘Parody of Pope’s Epitaph on Sir Isaac Newton,’ and ‘On seeing a Law-Book bound in uncolour’d Calf and white Edges.’ All three editions are uncommon.
