First London editions, scarce, both originally published in Dublin in 1776. A satire on Richard Twiss’s Travels through Portugal and Spain (1775) by Preston (1750–¬1807), occasioned by the appearance of Twiss’s Tour in Ireland in 1775 (in which he was critical of the hygiene of Irish women) and a mock defence, probably by the young Irish playwright Leonard MacNally, written in response.
