First edition of a rare satire on Pitt and his government, written ‘in such a Measure [dactylic tetrameter] that the Purchaser may either read it or sing it... to Tunes well known throughout the Kingdom’. In the words of the Critical Review: ‘This matchless piece appears to be the effusion of a mad quack-doctor’. ESTC locates 7 copies only (BL, Cambridge, Bodley, Rylands, Cornell, Harvard, Lilly). There was also another printing, for Hooper (Harvard only).
