First edition: a rare poem on the behaviour and cultivation of bees, copiously and diversely annotated with references to bees in Classical literature; crocodile anatomy; Jesuit activity in South America, etc. Murphy was a close friend of Samuel Johnson, also to the Thrales, to whose sixth child, Susanna Arabella, he dedicates the present work.
