LAMBARDE, William. ~ A Perumbulation of Kent: conteining the Description, Hystorie, and Customes of that Shire. Chatham: Printed by W. Burrill, High-Street; published by Baldwin, Cradock, and Joy... London, 1826.
8vo (232 × 142 mm), pp. , xvi, 538, engraved frontispiece and 1 map, letterpress tables. Slight spotting, heavier towards the beginning. Contemporary quarter calf, spine gilt with 5 raised bands, black morocco label. Cloth sides rubbed, but a very good copy.
The only early Kent-printed edition of Lambarde’s great county survey, first printed in 1576 (London). Russell Smith calls it the sixth edition and comments, ‘This Edition is a literal reprint, both in diction and orthography, of the one of 1596. For a local-printed book, it is well got up.’ Russell-Smith, Bibliotheca Cantiana, 2.
