Select Poems first appeared in 1774 (shortly before Fry’s death) in an edition of 84 pages and was enlarged (with the addition of the ‘History of Elijah and Elisha’) for an edition of 1783 (itself reprinted at Philadelphia in 1787). This edition of 1793 has substantially more text, notably the long poem ‘An essay on conduct and education recommended to the people called Quakers’, with separate title-page. Jackson p. 187.
