First edition, one of 1500 copies on vélin teinté (of a total edition of 1570 copies). A survey of the history of transport, which concludes with chapters on railways, bicycles and motor vehicles. La locomotion reflects Uzanne’s preoccupation with the quickening pace of technological innovation, nowhere more keenly felt than in Paris, with its succession of great international exhibitions, and this publication was timed coincide with the Exposition Universelle of 1900.
