Small 8vo, pp. [iii]-xi, [i], 182. Engraved frontispiece, wood engraved tailpiece vignette. Contemporary green straight-grained morocco, gilt. Later bookplate of I.H. Epstein. Upper hinge cracked, wants spine label, but still a very good copy.
Second edition. John Morgan Minter, socialist and educationalist was one of Robert Owen’s most ardent defenders. The revolt of the bees, a utopian and essentially Owenite fable, was aimed at an artisan audience. It had first appeared in 1826.
