Large 8vo (245 × 155 mm), pp. viii, 392 plus engraved frontispiece. Title in red and blacl. Uncut in early ful red morocco, sometime rebacked and rejointed preserving original spine.

First edition in English of Justine, ou Les Malheurs de la vertu. This is an unnumbered copy; some copies contain a limitation notice (250 copies). An ‘Historically interesting but whimsical English version’ (Kearney). ‘Les publications de Liseux sont de plus en plus recherchées parce qu’elles sont correctes, belles et rares. (Apollinaire, Le flaneur des deux rives, 1918)’.
