2 vols., 12mo (197 × 115 mm.), pp. 300; 298 (including half-titles), engraved map bound as frontispiece to each vol. Occasional minor spotting. Contemporary green half calf, marbled boards, spines gilt in compartments, red morocco labels. Slight rubbing, head of one spine very slightly chipped. A pretty copy.
First edition of a scarce work which ran to several editions. Inglis, son of an Edinburgh advocate, was a prolific travel writer. His monograph on the Channel Islands was prepared during a two-year stint as editor of the Jersey Newspaper The British Critic.
