4to (248 × 185 mm), pp. [lxii], 480, 473-508, plus engraved portrait. Price at foot of title trimmed. Contemporary calf, gilt. Joints cracked but secure, corners slightly worn, head of spine and spine label chipped, but still a handsome copy.
Prepared by A.P. Castiglione, who claimed to be a descendant of the author. With its parallel Italian and English texts and an extensive life of the author, this was a popular translation. This is a reissue (with cancel title-page) of the sheets of the 1727 and 1737 editions.
