First edition. In his preface, subscribed ‘Palgrave House, Eastbourne’, Roper expresses his desire to add a flora of Sussex to the recent floras of Kent (notably Tunbridge Wells). He mentions his own herbarium, but also notes the work of the Eastbourne Natural History Society and several individuals as sources of data. The photographic frontispiece is a fine portrait of the author.
