An early edition of Linguet's memoir of his incarceration in the infamous Bastille prison from 1780-82. This issue is an imitation of the original edition in volume 10 of Annales politiques, civiles et litteraires du dix-huitieme siecle, which was published in 1783 also with the T. Spilsbury imprint. Numerous other editions with the false Spilsbury imprint of were also published in the same year on the Continent, most of which are presumed to have been printed in Brussels or Hamburg, with at least one further Berne imprint.
