First edition, the Pamphleteer edition. Written as an introductory text while Bentham was working on the form and content of his major work Constitutional Code, Leading Principles defines the principal ends sought and the means for achieving them briefly and succinctly. Bentham received 250 copies after publication, which he distributed widely, with a number of copies taken to Greece, where Bentham hoped to become legislator.
