12mo (160 × 90 mm.), pp. [xiv], 201, [5]. Woodcut head-pieces. First and last pages slightly spotted. Contemporary full sprinkled calf, red morocco label, raised bands, gilt tooled panels, red sprinkled edges and marbled endpapers. Slightly rubbed, some further wear to corners, upper joint just strating at head. A very good copy.

First edition. The work was banned and ordered to be burnt by the Parlement on the 31 December 1734. A satirical novel undermining the French catholic church.
