4to (262 × 205 mm.), pp. iv, [4], 265, [3] plus engraved frontispiece portrait by Sherwin after Donaldson. Very light offsetting from portrait to title. Contemporary Scottish calf, spine with 5 raised bands, red morocco label. Slight surface insect damage to lower forecorner of upper cover, bookplate removed from front pastedown. A very good copy, most attractive.

First edition of Stuart’s account of the Scottish Reformation from 1517 to 1561.
