First edition. "Mr Thomas Fisher was the first who established a Printing-office in Rochester, for many years exhibited a pattern of extreme assiduity in business, and became an Alderman of that corporation. He died Sept. 29, 1786, at which time he was preparing a new edition of the History of Rochester, of which Mr. Shrubsole of Sheerness was the original compiler. Many gentlemen furnished materials for the work, and none contributed to it more largely than the Rev. Samuel Denne..." (Harris).
