First editions. Berry, Horace Walpole's protegée and later editor, here provides a richly detailed account of English society from Mid-Georgian to mid-Victorian and of France in the same period. There are especially valuable accounts of Napoleon, Mme de Sta'l, and Princess Caroline. Both works are scarce.
